About
I was born and raised in Plainville, CT, a small town just west of Hartford. As a child, I developed a strong interest in acting and theater, an interest that grew into a passion and led me to attend Tisch School of the Arts and New York University, graduating in three years with a B.F.A. in Drama. I spent the next eight years pursuing acting opportunities in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles before moving back to Connecticut in the summer of 2000. Turning my pursuit of acting from a profession to a hobby, I focused on my occupation in the food and beverage industry, which led to several successful positions in various restaurants and bars in New York and Connecticut, and eventually, in 2005, Key West.
Over the next fourteen years, I became some strange breed of snowbird, splitting time between as far south as I could be and the northeast, where I got to watch my three nephews grow up. Writing has always been a part of who I was, and it was during one of my times up north I put literal pen to paper and out of nowhere came up with the opening line of what would eventually become “Talk Murder To Me.” Enough people liked it so I kept telling the story, resulting in six more books in the series, as well as the spin-off novel, “Cargo’d” to say thank you to a friend.
In 2018, I became fortunate enough to call Gulfport, FL my home. I spent seven years continuing to navigate the continually changing hospitality industry, sharing my love and knowledge of spirits and cocktails. Always looking to expand my craft and work to the highest of my abilities, last fall I took a new opportunity and have been living and working in Big Sky, MT. Tricky Dick hasn’t been retired, but he is on a bit of a hiatus, and in the meantime I have revisited some old stories and discovered new ones to tell, finding a voice that I thought I might have lost during all the chaos of the last several years. I hope you enjoy them all, and I look forward to sharing a drink with you.
