The Mary Pickford
Recapping the Mary Pickford. Take a shaker full of ice and add 2 oz Rum (the recipe traditionally calls for Bacardi Gold, but your favorite white or silver will be fine,) 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice, and 1 bar spoon each of Luxardo Maraschino Liquor and Grenadine. Shake and strain into a martini glass and garnish it’s a cherry. Enjoy!
The Corpse Reviver
Recapping the Corpse Reviver #2. .75 ounce each of Gin, Lillet Blanc, Triple Sec, and Lemon Juice, with a couple dashes (or half a bar spoon) of Absinthe. Shake and strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lemon twist and enjoy!
The Ti’ Punch
Recapping the Ti’ Punch! Start with a short glass, pour in 1.5 oz Rhum Agricole, .25 oz Simple Syrup, and squeeze in a nice thick piece of lime! Easy, peazy!! Give it a quick stir, and if you want to be authentic (or so they tell me) drink as is, or add an ice cube if you wish! Enjoy!!
The Runner's High
Recapping the Runner’s High, this past week’s Covid Quarantine Cupboard Cocktail Creation Challenge coming to us from Charlotte Corriher. Start with a shaker full of ice and add 1 oz Silver Rum, 1 oz Blackstrap Rum, .75 oz Blue Curaçao, .75 oz Peach Schnapps, and 1 oz Orange Juice. Shake it all up, pour into a tall glass, top with Ginger Beer, and enjoy!
The King’s Jubilee
Recapping the King’s Jubilee! Start with a shaker full of ice, add 2 oz white Rum, .75 oz Maraschino Liquor, and .5 oz Lemon Juice. Shake and strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lemon twist and enjoy!

The Ward Eight
Recapping the Ward Eight! Start with an ice filled shaker and add 2 oz of your favorite Bourbon/Rye/Whiskey, 1 oz fresh Lemon Juice, .75 oz of Simple Syrup, and .25 oz Grenadine. Shake it like you made it and serve over ice in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with a cherry and enjoy!
The Southern Summer Sunday
Recapping the Southern Summer Sunday. Start with a wine glass full of ice. Add 2-3 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters, 1.5 oz of Southern Comfort, 1 oz of Triple Sec, top off with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist. Enjoy!
The Sazerac
Recapping the Sazerac! Start with an old fashioned glass full of ice, as well as your shaker tin. In the tin, add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, 6 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters, a bar spoon of simple syrup and 2 oz of Whiskey/Rye/Bourbon. Stir for 20 seconds. Empty the ice from the glass and rinse with .25 oz of Absinthe. Strain the drink into the glass (no ice,) garnish with a lemon twist, and enjoy! Happy Friday!!
The Old Fashioned
Recapping the Old Fashioned! Start with a short glass half filled with ice and add 2 dashed Angostura Bitters, one bar spoon of simple syrup, 2 oz of Whiskey and a lemon twist. Stir for 20 seconds and enjoy!
The Beachcomber Sunrise
Recapping the Beachcomber Sunrise. Start with a snifter full of ice, add 2 oz of Plymouth Gin, and slowly add 1.5 oz of Blackberry Brandy, 2 oz of Orange Juice, and a drizzle of Grenadine. Admire the swirls for a minute, and then stir and enjoy!
The 212
Happy Sunday! Recapping the 212, one of the drinks we did during the after hours! Fill your shaker with ice, and then add 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila, .75 oz Aperol, and 1.5 oz Grapefruit juice. Shake and strain into a martini glass and enjoy! The name refers both the proportions of the recipe and the area code where the drink was created! Enjoy!
The Margarita
Recapping the Margarita from this past Wednesday. Start with a shaker full of ice and add 2 oz Blanco Tequila and 1 oz each of Orange Liquor (Triple Sec or Cointreau or something similar,) fresh Lime Juice and Simple Syrup or Agave Nectar. I’m using my Jalapeño Simple. Shake serve and enjoy! Thanks to everyone who joined me this week, and a big shout out to those who rang the bell!
The Paloma
Reviewing the Paloma! Start with a tall glass with ice, and then add 2 oz of your favorite Tequila, .5 oz of fresh Lime Juice, and then top with either a Grapefruit soda or equal parts fresh Grapefruit Juice and Club Soda. (If you go the Grapefruit Juice route, give it a quick stir. If not, don’t.) That’s it, that’s all. Enjoy! And thank you everyone who joined me last night. Still going through it and enjoying all the comments!
The Bijou
Every rule has an exception! Meet the Bijou, a classic drink that sounds like it should be stirred, but it is definitely shaken! In an ice-filled shaker, add 1.5 oz of Plymouth Gin, .5 oz Sweet Vermouth, .5 oz of Green Chartreuse, and two dashes of orange bitters. Shake and strain into a martini glass and enjoy! (And if you look not so carefully, you can see what an isolation diet of primarily carbs coupled with little exercise will do to you!)
The Thomson Twister
Let’s make the Thomson Twister! Start with a shaker full of ice and add to it 2 oz Vodka, 1 oz Peach Schnapps, and 1.5 oz each Cranberry and Orange juice. Shake vigorously and pour into a lowball glass (also known as a double rocks or double old fashioned glass.) Using the back of a spoon, float a generous pour of Grand Marnier and enjoy!
An Easter Gimlet
Let’s make an Easter Gimlet! Start with 2.5 oz of your favorite Gin or Vodka. Add either .5 oz of Rose’s Lime Juice or .25 oz each of fresh lime juice and simple syrup. Shake vigorously and either strain into a martini glass or serve over the rocks. Enjoy!
The Martini
Happy Friday. Let’s start the weekend with a martini. Chill you coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a while, and then splash and swirl some dry vermouth around it before dumping it out. (You don’t have to throw it on the floor like I do.) Pour 3 ounces of your favorite gin or vodka into your ice-filled stirring vessel and stir. Strain into your chilled glass and garnish with either olives or a lemon twist. Enjoy!
The Moscow Mule
Recapping the Moscow Mule: fill your copper mug (or regular glass) with ice, add 2 oz Vodka, .5 oz fresh lime juice, and top with Ginger Beer. Give it a quick stir and you’re good to go.
The Dark and Stormy
Recapping the Dark and Stormy and talking about the origin of the word Black Strap. Fill your glass with ice, then fill 75-80% with Ginger Beer. Float Gosling’s Rum on top. Bingo, bango, done! Just be sure to stir before you enjoy!
The Crosby
Recapping the Crosby: 1.5 ox each Vodka, white Creme de Cacao and OJ. Shake and enjoy how you like best! See you Wednesday night at 8!

Recapping the Mai Tai: 2 oz Myers’s Rum, .5 or Triple Sec, .5 oz Orgeat syrup, .5 oz lime juice. Enjoy. Remember next Wednesday April 8th, 8pm, shaken or stirred? If you want to play the home version, you’ll need lime juice, simple syrup, dry vermouth, and gin (or vodka.)
The Hurricane
I was going to recap the recipe for the Mai Tai from last Wednesday, but realized I didn’t have my Triple Sec! D’oh!! So, instead you get this, a riff on a Hurricane. See you tonight at 8 for the Mixology Madness and Cocktail Creation!
The Daiquiri
Here’s the recipe for the classics Daiquiri from last Wednesday night. 2 oz silver rum, 1 oz simple syrup, and 1 oz fresh lime juice. Build over ice in your shaker, shake the bejeezus out of it, and pour. Be sure to join me this Wednesday at 8 for another fun night of drinks and stories!
